Fees: $1 per child per session - children under the age of one are free. What is Playcentre? Playcentre is an informal session where children and their parents/carers can come together in a friendly environment. Playcentre is about learning through play. It provides an opportunity for children to play and develop their creative, social, intellectual and motor skills. It is also a place for parents and carers to come together as part of a support network and make friends. Who is Playcentre For? Playcentre is for children aged 0-6 who are not yet in school. Playcentre sessions are open to all children and their carers, regardless of ethnicity, cultural beliefs, disability, special needs, family make up or parenting style. What Happens at Playcentre? We encourage participation in a wide range of activities which stimulate
the imagination and improve fine and gross motor skills. Better yet... the
children get to experience activities which many people find too messy to
do at home. Playcentre is informal and above all...fun!! What should I wear? Leave your best clothes at home! Comfortable clothes which you and the kids can get messy in are best. Craft might involve paint or glue, sand, water, food - just about anything. Discipline and Safety: Parents and carers are responsible for the discipline, safety and supervision of their own children. Parents or carers need to attend with their children for the entire session or organise another parent to be responsible for their child. Under special circumstances children over 3½ yrs may be left under the supervision of the Playcentre Coordinator but prior arrangement for this is essential. For further details please feel free to
